Learn how global distributors evaluate drop-forging tolerances, surface plating thickness, torque resistance benchmarks, and blow mold case durability.
5-Point Quality Control Checklist for Industrial Hardware
International tool importers and brand distributors must establish rigorous Quality Control (QC) standards at factory acceptance. Here are EVEROK's 5 non-negotiable inspection standards:
1. Drop-Forging Integrity & Grain Flow
Examine the steel cross-section under optical microscopy. High-grade drop-forged tools must display continuous grain flow aligned with the tool axis, eliminating micro-voids, cold shuts, and surface decarburization.
2. Hardness Consistency Across Working Zones
For cutting pliers and adjustable wrenches:
- Jaw teeth must reach **HRC 58-62** (induction hardened).
- Tool body / handles must maintain **HRC 42-48** to absorb dynamic shock without brittle fracture.
3. Electroplating Thickness & Salt Spray Testing
- Minimum nickel layer: **8–10 μm**.
- Chrome top coat: **0.25–0.35 μm**.
- Must exceed **72-hour neutral salt spray test (NSS)** according to ISO 9227 without pitting or corrosion.
4. Torque Proof-Load Compliance
All sockets and wrenches must exceed **DIN 3117 / ISO 6787** proof-torque ratings by at least **150%** without permanent jaw opening exceeding 0.1mm.
5. Packaging & Drop Durability
Blow-mold cases and blister hang-cards must withstand a 1.2m drop test at -10°C to guarantee transit safety across intermodal maritime containers.
